A picture tells a thousand words as the saying goes - and using images is a big part of creating effective websites, articles and sales pages.
One thing to be mindful of with images is... be very careful not to just grab a picture from Google and assume you can use it! There are copyright issues on most pictures, so it's going into dangerous territory.
The good news is that there are a LOT of sites that you can find free images for, or pay a small fee - and there are literally 1000's to choose from!
Here are my top picks...
Another great site for sourcing quality free images
Pexels is yet another great site for sourcing free images to use on your own website - when it comes to sourcing quality images, there really is no lack of choice!

Biggest selection of images at slightly higher prices
If I can’t find the image I am looking for on Fotolia then iStock is my second stop. They have the biggest selection of images but their prices are slightly higher than Fotolia.
iStock also has a massive selection of audio and video clips so when it comes to creating videos iStock is definitely my #1 choice.

Free online program to edit and create simple graphics
Pixlr is a free online graphics editing program that blew me away the first time I used it. Sure, it may not be as powerful as Photoshop but it is more than adequate for the average user that is editing and creating simple graphics for their website. And did I mention the price? Free :-)

Powerful tool for creating graphics for your website
If you are serious about creating your own graphics for your website, you need Adobe Photoshop. It isn’t cheap but it is VERY powerful.
NOTE: Not to be confused with Photoshop Elements which is a much cheaper version that is really only meant for touching up photos, not full graphic creation.
